Fender Chrome + Fittment

I wasn't really sure whether to post this in the suspension section but about a week ago I found a leaking fork seal on my GS750 so I disassembled and replaced both. During the re-assembly I noticed the tire was rubbing on the side of the front fender. After some adjusting of the fender bolts I got it to clear, but just barely. I've never had this issue before during re-assembly so I'm guessing it got bent somehow.

My question is if there is a good way to straighten the chrome fenders without cracking the chrome? I also have a crack in the fender (see picture) that I attempted to stop drill, with temporary success. Any idea on fixing the crack and re-plating? Or am I better off finding a replacement?

The obvious question would be are you sure you reassembled it properly? Your brake rotors probably wouldn't line up in the caliper but it's not a big deal to compare it to the manual or parts fische pictures to be sure. Make sure the tops of the fork tubes are even in the top of the triple tree, it doesn't take much of a misalignment to throw things out of whack.

It is the stock size, I believe a 100/90/19. There is obviously extra room on the other side of the fender so it must be bent over. I double checked that the front forks are at the same height in the triple trees, so I don't think its that. The brake caliper all lined up properly, I do have the Salty Monk single disk brake upgrade. The fender has never really been straight since I got the bike, but I never had tire clearance issues

Actually, a 90/90 is more likely the stock size, but many of us put a 100/90 in there, instead. It does slow down the steering just a bit, but is just large enough to eliminate most of the inherent speedo optimism.

I asked the question because some have put a 110 in there, under the false impression that "bigger is better". They are a tight fit when everything goes well. In your slightly imbalanced situation, there is probably no way it would work.
