It's not exactly my style, but I sure wish that I could paint like that!!

Is this going to be for the strip only?, if not, then how about installing some rear shocks?

Gotta agree with zig06. You've obviously put a lot of quality work into your ride and it looks real clean. The stretched out dragbike thing is OK if that's the style you're shooting for but functionally this bike is challenged. No shocks and an elongated wheelbase is going to make handling very difficult. IMHO you would enjoy the bike a lot more if you upgraded the chassis to improve handling to make it compatible with roads that turn left and right.

thanks for the input. I ride everyday it isnt raining. for being without shocks it actually rides fairly decent. maybe i just got used to it. I have riden it on a couple hundred mile ride and wasnt bad but much more then that i am sure i wish it had shocks. Thanks for the comments, Alot of hard work and alot of money and still the end is not in sight as of yet..

Can anyone tell me how to get my pictures up in the gallery? Thanks

Willie, do you ride 2 up? If not. then why don't you put a solo seat on and mod the rear fender area? The tribal flame job looks good. Who did it?

I hardly ever ride alone, that is my lady loves to ride almost as much as i do. I do think i am going to have the set redone maybe do more of a deep pocket in the front to keep me in place when i run down the strip. If i was to go to a solo seat i would definatley be in trouble.lol
The custom paint was down by a local guy here in town he has a website(hopefully my pictures will make there) He does awesome work but he does take time. he had my pieces about 6 weeks but i think was worth the wait.
Here is his website www.xtremecustompainting.com his name is Eric just tell him Will sent yea...lol

handlebars

handlebars

i am not sure what brand they are but they are drag bars. not full straight have a slight bend to them.

I love that color. Did you consider doing the frame in the same color or some other color? I think it's great when people take a risk and do something a little different. I powdercoated my frame in a metallic apple green. I like it a lot. I was originally going to do the body parts in flat black. I'm thinking I may do some other kind of crazy color though.

Come this fall i am tearing the motor all down for a big bore kit and cams at that time i am planing on recroming the swing arm and doing the frame i wasnt sure what color for the frame but now you have me thinkin. I also plan on air shifter and maybe nos or a turbo i havent decided as of yet. My wheelie bars are at the powder coat as we speak and i believe they are going to be p/c chrome? my buddy is having it done as a birthday gift so we shall see

i recon ....and this is my opinion .....recover the seat or replace with a 2/4 style seat , put some chunky rear shocks and sort out the tail light /trim alignment .......then its spot on .....cant beat these old bruisers for pure attitude :-D

I really like your look. I hope you don't mind me using it as one of my models I go by when customizing my bike :D Also could you maybe list all of the mods you can think of that you have done? It would be nice to have an idea of what all I'm stepping into although I'm not going to copy-cat your bike I still like the whole Handlebar, Rearend, Chopped out look that you have. The paint job really sets it off though!! Really Nice Bike!!

Looks like a very nice job sir. I am one of those guys who likes to keep a couple of bikes for different needs myself. But, here's a suggestion bout your seat. Find another seat pan, and make a solo out of it. That way, when your lady wants to ride, you can simply pull the hinge pins, and swap the seats out. Then for the strip, you have a nice solo just for you :)

willieb,
I think you should paint the brake calipers green to match everything else. But they look great how they are. The entire bike looks great! Good job. It looks a lot like a drag bike to me but I don't know why.

You can post up to 4 pictures at a time (this includes the little smilies) by following the procedure that BassCliff has posted on his website. Click this link to go right to it. The whole procedure involves using a photo-sharing site like Photobucket, copying the IMG link that it provides, then pasting it into your message here. One thing that is not mentioned in the write-up, however, is a size suggestion. I don't remember where I did it, but somewhere on Photobucket's site you can specify your photo size. I have mine set to 800x600, which is a comfortable size to post without taking up a whole lot of resources. When the pictures get bigger, they are larger than the screen and you have to scroll sideways to see the picture AND the text that goes along with it.

If you have more than 4 pictures that you wish to share, you can either do them 4 at a time in consecutive posts or just list the links, just do it without the IMG tags.

Very nice work Mr. willieb71. But, with that pipe, can it turn right? Nevertheless, it looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Thanks for all the compliments and ideas

Thanks for all the compliments and ideas

Thank you everyone for all the ideas and compliments like i said i have alot more work to do, it seems like i get one thing done i see sumthing else i wanna do. For all you guys that say it has the drag bike look, well i do drag race it. not professionally or anything but when i can, plus she is a daily driver but when them guys on those old kz's come around i show them what suzuki is all about..lol
As to a reply to godmachine81 well i am honered that sumone wants to use my bike as a model. Alot of what i have done isnt cheap though but here are sum of the mods i have done. Body wise .it has been lowered in the front end by cuttin the springs down about an inch and the rear swing arm is pretty costly it is called a club foot swing arm which will accomodate a wide back tire set up. The header is a vance and hines sidewinder and i also cut my rear fendr off so the back tire wouldnt rub and mounted my licence plate on my own fabricated rear foot peg. motor has alot of work. Head has been ported and polished and the head had been completly gone thru i run a complete dyne system with coils and igniton. I have geared the bike to perform better off the launch. I also replaced the forks out, my originals were only single disk so i replaced the forks off another gs and converted to dual disk front end. Carbs are 28 mm mikunis with 125 or so main jets i cant remember been a while. I have 2 sets of bigger carbs i am planning on using one set and selling the other. I have 33 or 34 flatslides and 1 set of 33 or 34 mm radiail slides if anyone interested just email me i have em for sale. need cleaned up.
As for the question does it turn right? Yes that is why i had to go with the sidewinder header my old one bottomed out all the time and with this header it is up to the side and has never bottomed out or hit while turning/ The headed is not for street use but you know OH Well, is pretty loud has no baffle but love my loud pipes.
Thanks a bunch going to Basscliff and the rest of you guys i will be postin new stuff as it happens Thanks again

Hey basscliff thanks for the comments and yea it turns right just fine, the header is a side winder it comes out to the side and then back it gives me plenty of clearance. the original header i had on it i didnt have clearance so i went to this header and havent had a problem since. if you are interested in the headed it is called a vance and hines sidewinder for off road use only (Atleast thats what they say) :)
