    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have been meaning to post about my first riding lesson...

I'm not as good a story teller as TCK so this will be short and to the point, perhaps he will add some comments later. :)

A week ago we took the 550 down to the church parking lot at the end of our block so I could get some practicing in before I take the MSF class (hopefully in August... Before my temps expire. :-\\\)

Sometimes I can actually get the bike to go without stalling it 38 times first. Sometimes I can actually drive it in a straight line. Sometimes I can manage to NOT wobble while trying to get my feet up on the pegs.

Mostly, I smack my shins on the foot pegs and get large bruises.

Needless to say, I will need a lot more practice and I know the MSF class will do a lot of good.

I ended up with one good pass out of the day. Smooth take off, straight line, used both brakes to stop without making the front end dive and scare the crap out of me. lol

Here are a couple pics TCK took:

First Ride

Rose - Way to go!
We all started that way (we just forget to remeber telling about that part!)

+1. I thought you always rode just let TCK do all the driving when together.:-\\\

Good luck in your class.

Thanks! I'll take all the luck I can get!

This reminds me of when TCK was in a band... I was always at all the shows helping carrying drums, amp, cabinets, and etc. There were so many people that thought I was in a band, but, the only guitar I play has colored buttons on it. :-\\\

I'm hoping that someday I can show up at a rally on my own bike. It's going to take some time. :)

Congratulations Rose! Hang in there. It DOES get easier. heheh

Earl

It certainly does! That somehow just brought back the first time I was ever taught - I was so terrified it took me about five minutes to let the clutch lever out - hey they to do it gradually so they got gradual! Everyone started looking at watches they didn't have as if they had appointments... :-\\\ It's like falling off a log now.

Look out Valentino Rossi . The Rose cometh .

I to thought you were more experienced . :o

You'll have the knee down before you know it .

Cheers , Simon .

Excellent!!! Keep at it Rose, each time on will be better than the last.

TCK will be chasing you down the road in no time...
