A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I was wondering how I could get mine to shoot fire out of the exhaust:lol:!

No, seriously, my guess is your are getting some fuel in there which could mean a bad petcock.

Is it backfiring and then flaming? More details please. A picture would be cool:D.

It is backfireing and then popping flames. I want to ride it so bad that I can taste it. Can not afford to take it to the shop.

Have not had the money yet butb I believe that the petcock is junk. If you put it on prime it does okay, little too much fuel but when you put it on run it starves for fuel. Thought about trying an inline filter to restrict the fuel flow some and run on prime till I can get a new petcock. Money is really tight.

The petcock needs to be removed and cleaned, but it cannot cause this problem.

It appears you are getting too much fuel in the exhaust, and it is being ignited while in there, which you note as backfire. You could have a carb on one cylinder that is not shutting off when full, thus allowing too much fuel into the cylinder where it does not all get burned, but you must check for ignition and valve timing.

Edit: A compression check might also be used.

:DWell after alot of cussing and work we got it running good enough to ride, but it is rough!!!!! To say the least. I am going to have to rebuild the carbs. If it will make it for at least 2 more pay days I can get the stuff to redo the carbs. It spits and sputters but it goes okay. I can not wait to get it to running the way it should. I love mu ugly little bike. Thanks

i bet you CAN taste it...you sound like you're so rich its loading up in the pipe after the exhaust stroke, and its also possible you have a couple of exhaust gasket leaks too...

Where are you in Alabama? I have the next couple of weekends free, and I'm next door in Mississippi.
