first build in a long time

Well thought i'd post a bit of build thread up. This is the first bike i've had for a long time and the fiirst build for a long time, also what is going to make this even harder is i'm extremely financially challenged at the moment :mrgreen: So all replacement bits are going to have to come from the sale of bits off this.. So first job was to get it running which took a lot of work, the wiring was all messed up and still is but at least its messed up the way i can understand. The carbs were completely full of **** and took 2 intensive washes in the dish washer to sort out :mrgreen: so anyway got it running after a couple of days messing around and i have to say for an old bike it sounds quite well. The whole thing is just tatty, a 30 year old bike needing 25 years worth of maintenance. What makes this build even more difficult apart from being skint is ive no shed anymore after moving so all work is being done outside. Main plans are more than make it a show winner are to sort the wiring out, repair the fuel tank, new frontend, different rear wheel, probably different seat and rear mudguard as well.. Going back to a stock front end or a sport bike upgrade? That current one looks awful on it.

I'll be looking to fit something like a bandit 1200 front end or maybe a zrx 1200 front end, i think USD front ends have been done to death IMHO, i'll have to see what comes along at a reasonable price..Vmass I wish we had a warm climate but it snowed this morning

I like how the tail looks and the seat with it.
Did they chop the frame to do that?
And curious about the rear end Honda swingarm and rim?

Hi Crankthat, i'm really unsure what the rear end is or how its been monoshocked, it almost looks factory rather than something someones done to it. I think the frame is an ES but again not 100% sure. I've been looking at various model suzuki's to see if i could find a frame like it but the ES is closest i've seen, but the ones i've seen are twin shocks. I'll probably keep the seat as its a corbin, may keep the rear mudguard but not sure yet, very early stages. Its not going to be pristine just a good usable bike, i don't have the facilities anymore to do the work necessary to make it A1 condition.

I don't know much about the different models from suzuki, may well be stock for all I know.
The rear rim just reminded me of some 79 cb rims I have in the barn.
Would say there is some fun times to be had potential there.
Just get her running well and safe and the A1 can come as opportunity provides if you ever decide that as a goal.
I just like to run the **** out of mine.
Time to make some extra room in the living room and throw down some extra rugs

Could well be a honda wheel etc, i've put a couple of closer pics of it, maybe someone will recognise it.. I'd love to get it indoors but think she'd probably cut my jolly's off ....

Maybe someone far more knowledgeable than me might know what the rear end is

After looking at the new pics not looking like my hondas anymore still curious though.
Maybe all stock? Someone will let me know I am sure.
