A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Took a short 100 mile ride back home and thought I would post up the photos. I took a road that is literally right out in front of my house all the way to Spring Green, WI. I am still adjusting to the normal temperatures here but I have to say that it was quite enjoyable.

Here is a pic just for GSBill.

The rest are right here.

Been there....

Been there....

When I was a kid, we shipped our milk to the creamery that became Carr's.--that's 50 years ago.

Takes a while to remember

Takes a while to remember

The creamery was then called Homeland Dairy: their trucks would come to the farm and pick up the 10-gallon cans of milk we'd collected over the last 24 hours and leave 50 gallons of "whey" (the residue from milk after the cheese makings had been extracted) for hog food.

I really would like to ride the hills and coulees of Western Wisconsin, but I've got to get a bike up there from down here in El Paso. Some friends from Washington state are talking about a ride next year, but plans are still in development.

My brother does have a Harley in Mauston, but I don't want to lower myself...:)

Thats really cool man. We used to have the milk man come and pick up milk from our bulk tank every other day. He used to carry butter and cheese so that we did not have to buy any from the store. As for harleys....I think I am one of a very few that don't ride one here in town. 8-[

Bet You're having to get Re adjusted to all that Green after a Year in the Desert.

There was a few times down there that the desert was extremely green but those times were few and far between. :-|

Why did you move back? That would be like me moving back to Ohio. Can't see that happening.

Summer in Arizona, winter in Wisconsin...
There's something you're not quite understanding about the snowbird concept...

Where in WI are you?

Where in WI are you?

I live in McHenry, IL, which is like 5 minutes from the WI border....Where are you located in the fine cheese head land?

And, as I recall, the only motorcycle shop in town is Bobby Bala, who only does Harleys.

But there's a good Suzuki guy in Tomah--found a choke cable there that I couldn't find in Seattle.

There is a guy in town that started a Motorcycle shop about a mile down the road from Bala's. It's called Mauston Motorsports. I go there often. I have been to that Suzuki place in Tomah too.

Man, Tomah brings back some memories I used to live there. I would drill out at Fort McCoy with the "82nd TNG DIV". I used to work at VanDemeers (can't remember if that's spelled right) Chevrolet for awhile too. I still remember why I hate cranberries to this day. I got a job on one of the cranberrie marshe after we first moved up there and thought it would be cool, nope, wrong, not in the middle of winter!

Nice pictures! I love NE Iowa and SW Wisconsin, our rides often take us up there, and all along the Mississippi river. I moved back to Iowa 3 years ago after living in the Phoenix area for 3 years before that and I enjoy riding here more than I did there. I just wish the riding season was longer here, even though we rode quite a bit last winter, as we had a really easy winter.

I could have done this in my previous post, I guess I'm a post *****!

Anyway, what part of Iowa are you in? I used to live around Sioux City. I still have alot of family left there too. I've been in the Army so long I haven't been home in a really long time! I'm starting to miss it now:cry:
