Looking at the messages regarding the new software it looks like most people approve of the change. That's good to hear and hopefully things will become easier as we all get more familiar with it.
The latest updates...
I have gone and upgraded our webhost plan to a more robust server. I believe that the problems we were seeing when performing searches was due to limited memory on the server. I have 4X increased the memory so let's see if that search problem goes away. Be sure to DM me if search has issues where it isn't working!
Once we get to the point where everything is running smooth here then I'll do some cleanup of the server and croak all the vBulletin crap on it. This should help things to run even smoother.
Just to comment about some of the changes folks are seeing in the new software
Post counts are gone in this system for the most part in that they aren't front and center anymore. I made conscious decisions with vBulletin when handling the databases so that no matter what I did peoples post counts wouldn't get wiped out or change when the database got purged XenForo handles things differently, so I can no longer play that game. So dependent on when databases get purged you may see your post count change. That's just the way it's going to be.
I saw a couple of mentions of image albums in vBulletin and people saying that they are missing from XenForo. I made the decision to only install the XenForo forum and not the image add-on. With vBulletin there was a lot of add on functionality such as blogs, groups, images, etc. I just felt that this contributes to some of the technical issues we were experiencing, beside making the whole thing just bloaty. So if you had old posts with links to these images then the links will be broken. Sorry about that.
