DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Another one for the L riders here.
What's you experience with the use of Highway pegs vs. OForward controls?
Again, I am 6'3 with 36" inseam and I feel I need to be sitting back further on the bike than the seat will allow to get my legs in a comfortable position.
I have the seatcover off now and plan on shaving the seat padding down to get me back a little further on the bike.

Let me know if you find a source of forward controls. I was thinking about trying that myself.

I'm tempted to try to make a mount of some sort that I can put some pegs onto.
Just wish I could get some ideas from others as to what to use and where to put it.
The spot on the frame where the engine mounts are look like a good place.

There was a site i was just looking at the other day that mad universal forward or rear mounts for jap bikes. You just had to make your own linkage as they only had stuff for yam's and kaw's. I wil have to see if I can find it again.

Thanks. That gives me some ideas, though I don't care for the chopper styling. Splittie?
I have seen these before and dont care for the way they look.
To me it looks like some high school project made out of scrap metal and some bike pegs.

The best ones I have seen that are close to want I would want are usually made for a hardley sportsters or a Honda CB750.
There is a set on ebay for a CB750 but the current bid is more than I paid for my bike. :-|

I have a set of forward controls for my 850GL from MC enterprises. I love them. They don't move the controls more than a few inches forward, but it's enough to make long rides comfortable. I also have a highway bar with pegs to give me all sorts of room to move my legs around. With the addition of a Mustang seat and I can ride until the tank runs dry before I need to get off and stretch.
