Forward or Mid Controls?

I've searched, but didn't find any real info... Just some folks mentioning forward controls.

Are there any kits out there? Anyone have some for sale? Just checking before I go buy the TC Bros Universal Kit and make my own mounting brackets. I'm also interested in "mid" controls... Something 1/2 way between the stock controls and the front engine mount bolts. No idea how I'd make that work, though.

I would think that "mid-" controls would have your feet out W I D E, beyond the ends of the crank. :-k

I have "highway pegs" on the case savers that allow that position every once in a while, I can't imagine that being my only position, though.

I saw one bike that used GSXR rear sets for forward controls..
they rotated them so the levers faced up..

The GSXR brake rear set has the MC mounted on it so all you have to do is get a long brake hose made and mount the remote reservoir.

the shift linkage will be fun but not impossible

For about $20 more than the TC forward control kit you could get a pair of Tarozzi rear sets and mount them the same way..

the levers have adjustable arms so you can put the linkage arm just about anywhere you want.

I had a set fabricated for my latest project. I'll try to get some pictures up for you - the bike was for my dad and he didn't want to have his feet way up front, so I did mid-controls. His feet are out a little further than usual, but it's actually quite comfortable. The brackets bolt onto an engine mount at the bottom of the frame.

idk, I feel awkward with the stock locations. I grew up on dirt bikes, but ever since about 14 I've ridden my dad and uncles choppers and Harleys, which all had fwd controls. Stock controls just feel weird to me

I think I'm going to go with some mid controls, and have a friend with a CNC machine fab up a bracket to mount them up. I'll be using either the TC Bros or Tarozzi kit, and sourcing threaded rods + heim joint clevis' from Grainger. I'm going to decide on which controls tonight. The Tarozzis look like a better unit, and for only $20 more I might go with their all-black version.
