Forgot to take a pic when I pulled off the masking but it looked good, then I cleared it.........................

And in the morning it looked like this!

IS my project doomed, how will I ever escape this catastrophy, will robin reach batman in time to free him!? The conclusion next week, Same Bat-time, Same bat-channel!

.......ok so maybe not lol, I was able to rub that fog out easily, then I wet sanded it with 800 grit,1500grit, then 2000, followed with turtle wax rubbing compound, then meguirs deep crystal polish. and well, I'm pretty damn happy with it!

Thank for listening to my story lol

You had your "img" "/img" 's mixed up. The /img always goes at the end.

Nice looking lid.

Would sanding and all that affect the integrity of the helmet though?

Thanks man, I hadn't realized it at the time but I hit the img button one too many times , so I had them all offset and backwards lol, I don't think it would affect the helmets integrity, I didn't sand into the helmets original paint much at all, only reall on the spots that were chipped, and those didn't even go down to the fiberglass. So, with some extra layers of paint on there maybe it's even stronger now! lol

They are quite good, I like those and the green apple ones

Looks good! :D

Would you mind posting a few more pics of the finished product? I'd love to see more of the end result..

I know that my helmet has a warning sewn into it which warns not to paint or sand, as it will affect the integrity. You may want to look into this.

The poly carbonite helmets have that warning as some paint solvents will damage them. Fiberglass helmets don't have that problem.

Yeah, a plastic based helmet shouldn't be sanded or subjected to solvents, but as mine is fiberglass I wasn't worried about this. if you sand a poly helmet you could give a better chance of develop cracks from the raised edges created when sanding, due to it's hard neture it can develop stress fractures, just like if you have titanium rods in your motor you must be careful not to nick them, the smallest irregularity can develop into a crack.
