Hello, I have a 1981 gs 550T W/stageIII jet ,K&Ncones, Mac4into1.& cleaned petcock. drove 50 miles then noticed cones wet "gas". pulled filters gas comeing out "150" stock pilotair jet.only carbs 3&4. i did install air restricters as recomended by dyno jet at rebuild, also K&L kits and rubber passage plugs installed. but if petcock put to reserve leak stops.only leaked when driveing I assume gas flows back when down shift or engine decelleration. BS 32 cv carbs. 2&1/2 turns out on air screws.bike runs strong pulls hard no poping. any Ideas welcome. thank you. SAN:?

Floats are correct> what makes you think fuel would come out air pilot jet. not needle jets. and not due it on reserve.also it took a week and 50 miles. runs very good before and when put on reserve.only when p,cock is in on position.thanks for reply SAN.

I thought you said the main air jet. The only thing connecting the pilot air jet is the main jet, pilot jet and the port in the venturi. The fuel is sucked through the main and diverted to the pilot jet since the jet needle is blocking the main and through the idle mixture screw area and into the venturi. If the rubber cap over the pilot jet was off it could overload the pilot circuit and it might flow out the pilot air jet.

When the floatbowl overflows it can come out of the air jet like you describe.

It did the same thing last fall after 500 miles after install of jet kit, so over winter rebuilt replaced all carb internalls. floats were at 23 so i set to 22. and its only carbs 3&4 claened & soaked fuelcock tested for leak set to on no fuel line didnot leak. Just want to be sure before I buy parts once not chace new floats & then new P/cock ETC. Thank you for input guys. SAN
