A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Fuel/vacuum line size '82 GS1100GL..confused

Just this quick question, because I'm thoroughly confused:

The fiche says the vacuum line should be 4.5X8.5X600 (4.5mm ID, 8.5mm OD), and even though I can't find the fuel line on the fiche (at least not in the carb or tank page) I've seen mentioned several times that it should be 7mm (ID I assume).

But then on Bikecliff's excellent page (Where do these hoses go?) I see that on a GS850 the vacuum is 6mm and the fuel line is 8mm. Shouldn't it be the same on the 1100, or in any case larger fuel line on the bigger engine?

Thanks!

Fuel line is in the Fuel Tank page. Desc HOSE,7X10,2X200

I'm confused, too

I'm confused, too

I can't figure out where the OEM fuel line part number shows up on any of the carb or tank fiche/schematics.

So....where do you find it and what is the order number?

Thanks!!!:)

Hi,

This is what I found at partshark.com:

#74 HOSE (4.5X8.5X600) 09355-45855-600 (replaces 13683-45110)

#76 HOSE, FUEL (6.5X11.5X600) 09354-65113-600 (replaces 13683-49160)

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks, Clifford.:)

It's strange because it isn't listed on the schematics that I looked at. Even more odd, it's pictured as a vent tube and not a fuel line on the one you reference. (#77 is the fuel tee). Through the years, I've found lots of mistakes on those schematics.

Hi Mr. chuckycheese,

Yes, I'm assuming that the vent hose and fuel hose is the same size and it's all the same stuff. But you know what happens when I assume. ;)

They are, Cliff, but you are also right that they call it a 'fuel line' in the listing (instead of both).

One time, I tried some of the clear, blue stuff and it leaked fuel at both ends. I then used it for my vent tubes....and it's down right pretty!:)
