A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Green light switch?

A cheaper alternative would be to get an old broken computer hard drive and pull the magnets from it. Super strong rare earth type. Bolt, weld or zip tie to your frame.

Alternatively, a lot of folks say you can trigger the light switch by rolling right up to the contact grid in the road and dropping your centerstand for a few seconds. I've tried it but never could tell if it really worked.

Some guys have been know to hop of the bike and hit the pedestrian crossing button and I've seen a couple ( tired of waiting) turn on the red when there was no through traffic.

Usually I just wait like the lemming I am.

Ride safe,

I thought we were all getting Cow Magnets......

The absolute BEST way to get the light to turn green for you is to contact either the police department or the highway maintenance department for that area to find out who is responsible for proper operaton of the lights. There is a sensitivity adjustment on the trigger coils. It is easy to change, you just need to motivate someone to get out there and do it. 8-[

What in the sam hill is that supposed to be for?
collects and keeps metal in the cow's first stomach so it doesn't pass down farther into their digestive system. cows are retarded. they WILL eat nails, stables, you name it.

Bikes with Triggers get stuck at red lights far less often than those without.

unless they show some bonified 3rd party tests, they end up soundling like a bad informercial. might work, might not. at least it's cheap to try.

Me too

Me too

I just run the lights. :D

I do too. And, I do it on a very regular basis (and as recently as yesterday afternoon). I was ticketed for it a couple of years and won in court. I'm very careful to look for cops but I'm unwilling to waste a portion of my life being at the mercy of a malfunctioning machine that state employees are either unwilling or too lazy to fix.

Ditto. Funny, there is one particular light that doesn't pick up my GS1000. But my GS1100 is not a problem. I guess there's just enough more metal on the bigger bike. Probably it's the stock exhaust system.

I have one of these

I have one of these

I use one of these magnets on my bike. I love it!! I have a stubborn traffic light at the major intersection nearest to my house. I used to have to wait for a car to pull up behind me, now I can pull up, and the light will start its cycle and switch over to a green for me.. Before the magnet I would have been there all night long. Now the light senses my bike, and changes accordingly.
This was one of the best $20 I ever spent on motorcycling...
