A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
I've done a similar conversion on my 1100 Kat with GSXR 2nd gen components except the fork tubes from a Bandit 1200 for ground clearance.Like what your doing, I know you can put Bandit 600 wheels in a GS1000 use the GS500 twin sprocket carrer with the B6 rear wheel and it all lines up nicely and is less waight than the standerd wheels. As its been posted the GSX1100/750ET (gs 16v head for the US) dose a strat swop for the standerd GS1000 swing arm and is lighter and twin shock. Also I put a GS850 Gen and rotor on my GS1000 there smaller and lighter and has no probs with charging the standerd GS1000 battor you can go down to a 10A batt smaller and lighter batt, use a 10A batt on my day to day GS1000 with no probs.

I will look into the GSXR alternator opportunityHi again. I would recommend the smaller altanator. I have a GS750/850 with the starter clutches too. But the better bet would be to try and graft an early 2000's GSXR rotor and some kind of Sprague starter clutch. The rotors use rare earth magnets and weigh half what the old GS ones do. And the Sprague starter clutch gives less trouble.
And a side note, stay away from steel belted radial tires as well. They way much more than the Aramid and Kevlar units.
Laters all.

Looks good!
I saw a GS 850 rotor for sale today, do you confirm it's a simple plug and play?
Sounds like a good ideaI believe that there is about 5 kg's to be gained from swapping the steel engine and other bolts for aluminium and titanium ones. Just make sure that you use titanium where the strength is required. They are a lot cheaper than they used to be and easily available.
