Greetings and Salutations!!
Hi Mr. speeddmon25,
Perhaps you have done this already, but it's always "best practice" to get the bike running at its peak in stock configuration before starting modifications. That way you have a baseline from which to troubleshoot any issues with the changes.
As for exhausts, this is part of the "mega-welcome" below:
New Exhaust Systems:
Vance and Hines - http://www.vanceandhines.com/
Mac - http://www.macperformance.com/
SuperTrapp/Kerker - http://www.supertrapp.com/
Laser/Jama - http://laser-exhausts.com/
Check the new part vendors for fitment and then shop for used stuff on eBay if you like. The forum also has Parts For Sale and Parts Wanted sections. If you're only going to drag it, why not just straight pipes and velocity stacks? The carbs will need a lot of jetting help.
As promised, here is your "mega-welcome". Enjoy!
If you are here you probably have a 30 year old motorcycle that needs about 20 years worth of maintenance. In the links below you'll find maintenance lists, documentation, wiring diagrams, "how to" guides, vendor links, tips, tricks, and a whole lot of GS goodness. This is your "mega-welcome". Let's get started.
Let me dump a
TON of information on you and share some GS lovin'.
I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.
