A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi Mike, just found your thread, amazed to see your work, impressed.
How did the carbs work?.
Any parts required for the choke, I've got a cable and handle bar lever I think, will have to have a look next time I'm home (1st w/end in sept). what i do have if you still need/want one is a H4 headlight.
Cheers Geoff.
Hey Geoff, thanks again for those carbs, They turned out to be a bit of a lifeline in what ended up being an arduous and painful diagnosis process. I had to shelve my carbs due to stripped thread on the body but used most of the internals from mine once i checked and compared them as i knew they were ok. As to the rest of the carbs, i used bits and peices in a trial & error method and finally got everything working properly again.

H4 headlight, I'm interested, very interested. You and I need to have a talk ;).

Oh I got some parts from Geoff on another forum (Perth Street Bikes), I was chasing down a right headache of a problem with the bikes carbs and some really bizarre symptoms. I've also got another thread on here with me "talking the problem through" and getting an answer, the carb caps were deformed & leaking!

p.s. the aquarium stand is making a lot of progress (piclink).

Aaaah I see! Good stuff... and thanks for helping Mike out Geoff!

And wow you're a quick worker... so I guess you'll be back on the GS tomorrow then? :p

I was happy with his telp Pete :).

I'm not quite that fast a worker, nor can i accelerate the 4+ hour cure times of varnish. One that's done I need to do a couple of other things before i can deem it a success.

I've got a bit of mucking with the suspension (hopefully doing that is the end of it) to do over the next few days if/when I get a chance. Along with that l also have to find time to get the RF pinkslipped over the next week or so.

Sounds like a barrel of laughs! Except the GS suspension which sounds like fun :D

The avatar is "Suzy2" my gsx250 cafe, check her out on perth street bikes if you want. Mike will pm you when I find what bits I've got.
Cheers Geoff.

Found your thread but can't see the pic's coz I ain't a member... however maybe I should join up, seems like there's quite a bit of GSX love goin' on over there!

And I assume it don't matter that I'm not in Perth given that Josh is also a member over there...

Not from Perth either, Melb but residing in Adelaide at the mo. Some of the best riding roads in oz around here, the Gorge road is worth a days ride just to get there.
Cheers Geoff.

I hope one day to ride the GOR... I know it's not what it used to be with tourists and what have you, but it's still the GOR...

Fortunately where I am here I'm at the doorstep to Mt Glorious, Mt Nebo, Mt Mee, Peachester, and all that goodness up there which will keep me happy once I finally get this thing rolling.

Which way is the Gorge road from Adelaide? Up north near the vineyards or something?

And Mike, I know I'm thread jacking here, but if you posted some GSX progress I wouldn't have to :p

Yeah, head north east from the CBD on North east rd, (priceless isn't it) this turns into the Mannum road (another road well worth the price of admission). It branches off that road and heads back towards town, 23klm of blacktop heaven, the scenery isn't bad either.
Cheers Geoff
P.S. Going again tomorrow , plan to film it and post it on youtube or some place.

Haha they obviously had lots of imagination naming the North East Rd

Sounds like a plan to me... I gotta get my 450 done, I need to ride...

Sorry Mike for stealing your thread.

Good stuff! Looks like a fun road... and glad to see four wheel drives crossing double white lines around corners isn't just a Qld thing...

Had a look at your other vid. of the cafe there too, looks like a good job!

As to stealing Mike's thread... well he doesn't exactly appear to be using it at the moment... :p

Haha, you're funny, the lot of youse :), then again i might deserve a threadjack or two as payback for doing the same in the past. I'm getting closer to the point of nearly being able to reclaim garage space and vacuum up acres of sawdust.

The stand is 99% done and Ive started working on the tank hood. I'll be spending a fair chunk of time just getting the electricals done correctly and safely, paint and construction there is a simple affair. Once the tank has been shifted upstairs ill be back at it (the optimist in me says a week, the realist says maybe two).

Pics provided as links as you don't need to really all see photos of some woodwork/its construction.

That's lookin' pretty good actually and I'm not even a fish tank kinda guy...

So is it done yet? :p

Uhm, i wish. Unfortunately a little thing called life gets in the way of these things. Have been busy with my missus going and getting admitted into hospital on Monday night and only coming home today. Should be finished pretty soon as i'm doing errands or bolting to the garage whenever her pain killers knock her out during the day. She's doing alright, though we're both looking forward to her having a reduced dependence on pain killers.

The stand is 99% done, now cocking about with electrics in the hood now, so close, oh so close.
