    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GS1000 tanks hoses "where do they go"

So I have the manual for my 1978 GS1000 but it doesn't have any good pictures. So here's a picture of my tank:


So blue hose is gas hose and goes to the center of the carbs I think?
The other hose I believe is for vacuum? Where does that go?

Also there looks like there's hose that comes off the gas gauge in the middle. Where does that go?

Do these connection where my finger is need to be connected/closed off or just left as is?
 
Vacuum hose goes to No3 carb (left to right facing forward). The take off's on No2 & No4 are for breather hoses that wrap over the top of the airbox.

As Joes pics show. In your pics, the black is the fuel line that goes to the TEE between 2 and 3. The blue is the vacuum that goes to the brass nipple on 3. The other 2 are vents that get routed over the air box and down between the swing arm and frame area. Run the vent lines and then cut them about 1 inch LOWER than the bottom of the oil pan.
 
The outlet from the fuel gauge sender goes in to a long hose that drops down somewhere by the front of the swinging arm. It's there in case the sender leaks - you don't want petrol spewing over the top of a hit engine.

Hey Folks:

Why do 2 adjacent carbs have this port....?
(I, myself, don't have any experience with any pre 80, nor any VM carb.....)

They look similar, but they are not. The #2 vents from the carb, the #3 has a port in the intake that creates vacuum. You can always tell a #3 carb by looking at the engine side
