I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

GS1000S Front Fender Interchange?

The paint on my GS1000S (second one) front fender is decent, but the white is yellowed some, so I'm looking for a different front fender to paint up (I'll ebay the original if a match can be found). I've compared part numbers between models but can't find a match.

Does anyone know how a GS1000/850 fender compares to the S fender? This model fender doesn't have any exposed rivets on the outside so that much is clear.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks so much for the photos Dale. Looks like the fenders are very similar.

The fender on the 1000S has four small reinforcement pieces that are spot welded on at the sides of the middle brace. I'll take some photos later to illustrate but I can't see those in your photos.

BTW, both the 850 and 1000 have 37 mm forks but the spacing at the triple clamps may be different.

The 850 fender and 1000 fender seem almost identical. Here are a couple of photos of mine. It has some dents so now trying to decide if it's even worth trying to sell or should I just repaint it and use it on my project bike.

Boy, I don't think you're going to find a better one than you have, Ed. That baby looks nice, especially on the inside. If someone's looking for one, that would be the one to have. I'm painting another S model right now that was way worse. Rusty on the bottom, dents everywhere. Looks like the one dent I see on yours could be tapped out from the back and metal straightened..bada-bing-badda-boom. I'd keep it.

My plan is to sell off as many of the original painted S parts as possible, to generate some cash flow, and then repaint regular Suzuki parts to match the S pattern. The paint on the bike I'm restoring is good, but not up to the level I want, but it's too good to strip down. Of course my plan is predicated on finding equivalent body pieces but that's proving difficult.
