I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Where do you get GS1000S type mirrors?

Looking to replace the stock ones on my handle bars, for mirrors that mount on my "Cooley type fairing".
Can't find any references in the forum sections- other than general comments.
Actually, not sure what to even call the mirrors or the fairing for that matter..

Were they used on other bikes/fairings?

Thanks for the help!!

Welcome to the forum. You obviously didn't try very hard to find info about these mirrors because they are much discussed here.

GS1000S mirrors are rarer than unicorn tears.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a reasonable alternative, because finding the real deal parts will cost you your first born.

This will be you when you find out the price of GS1000S mirrors!

HaHa!
So what do you call those mirror's and fairing? Are they just refered to as "Wes Cooley" or "1000S"?
I bought an EMGO MarkII pair, but they didn't work at all..

Anybody recommend an alternative?

GSX1000E once told of a pair that will fit and give better visibility. Unfortunately I can't recall what they were { though GSXR mirrors stick in my mind } Maybe if you shot him a PM ?

Mirrors mounted on a sport fairing are a bad idea anyway. They may look cool, but the flexing of the fairing causes them to shake a lot and they aren't as easy to adjust while riding down the road as bar mounted mirrors.

My GPZ has the mirrors mounted on the fairing, and it sucks.

I've got them on my Kat too and I agree they suck. Never noticed the vibration thing but plus one on the adjustment part. Even when I get them perfect the best I get is the left and right lane but useless for what's behind me. I always insist on being the follower when riding with a friend. I'm just not going to see if someone gets stuck at a light or we get separated for some other reason. They've got those little round wide angle mirrors stuck on { by a PO } which help a bit but are useless for close quarters viewing.....

The PO who had my bike had made some spacers of about an inch out of a chunk of nylon that moved the mirrors outwards and that really helps a lot.
