DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Anyone know what 5.5" GSXR rims will fit a GS1100 arm? The arm will be off of an 83 1100E.

Would I use the 1100E spacers or the GSXR spacers correct to the rim? There is mention of this swap that I found using the search function, but no year range or details past "gsxr 5.5 fits 80-82 gs750/1100"

Thanks a bunch!

Edit: The whole package would be going into a 78 gs750

I have had a -90 GSX-R1100 wheel in aluminium -83 GS1100 swing arm. I used the GS sprocket carrier which gets the chain closer to the wheel. Custom spacers were necessary.

You will probably have to to a 530 chain and offset front sprocket also.

True. Space for the chain was very limited on GS1100. I don't know about the 750 but I guess it doesn't have any wider frame.

The brake caliper will need some creativity as well. I used a GSX-F (Katana) caliper on GSX-R hanger with custom torque arm.

Rear 5.5 wheels

90-98 GSXR 1100

For some more info.

Katman can cut you a custom spacer to align the sprocket/chain side or you can mix and match.

Look at my GSXR budget build thread to see how I worked out the rear caliper hanger.

Alot of ppl doing the conversion wind up going to the 520 sprocket set up for more clearance.

RF900 wheels should work as well. DIDERV3 is the narrowest 520 chain.
