DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GS1100ED front fender ideas for 17" front wheels and RSU forks

i'm planning to convert to 17" rims and Bridgestone Battlax BT-003 radials (120/60ZR-17 front on a 17 x 3 GS500E front rim and 160/60ZR-17 on a 17 x 4.5 Bandit 600 rear rim).

i'm afraid my stock front fender will look too large and out of place with this combo. i'll be using 41mm '06 Kawasaki ZG1000 forks (shortened) in a GS1100GKZ triple. the fork lowers have similar fender mounting bosses to the GS.

the Connie fender is a little bit fugly. to keep the traditional " standard superbike" look, i was almost thinking a Kawasaki Zephyr 750 front fender, but they are impossible to find used as they are not really a popular bike. does anyone know of an aftermarket replacement? other ideas are welcome.

i think i have answered my own question....the 83-86 GS700/750 E/ES front fender is the direction of where i'm headed.

the 100/90-16 tire that was fitted to those bikes has a diameter of 23.09 inches, while the 120/60ZR-17 tire that i want to run has a diameter of 22.67 inches; a marginal reduction of .210" in the radius.

that's a far cry from the 1.71 " difference in radius between the 100/90-19 GS1100E tire and the one i want to run.

the 83-86 GS700/750 E/ES fender also has the mid '80's Hans Muth/Suzuki family resemblance going for it as well,
