I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have a GS1100 G 83 model . the bike was running fine but now she keeps blowing main fuse . She'll sit and idle all day till I go to rev her and that's when she blows the fuse. Any iders on what could be causing this to happen.. The only thing i'v changed on her is LED indicators and flasher unit
cheers

The guy who owned my bike before the guy I got it from told me that every couple times of revving it all the way out, the main fuse would blow. I hit all the big contacts and connectors (and the back of the fuseblock) with Naval Jelly and then rinsed it clean and have not had it happen to me at all. Maybe it's a corrosion issue somewhere between the main and the coils?

yeap have done most of that but didn't think of the coil's. I'll go have a look
Cheers

My r/r is doing it's job apparently any other idea's I'm at a total lose with this bloody thing

Yes just got on to that . Started the bike after disconnecting it and main fuse didn't blow
Cheers guys thanks for the help

Not certain what you are saying.

It is possible that your R/R (and stator) does function but at sometime, like under higher voltage (or current or temperature) the R/R (or stator) has something that just for a brief time shorts to ground and that would blow main fuse.

If disconnect the R/R from the bike harness, that will remove the R/R (and stator) entirely from the bikes wiring. The bike will start and run without the R/R connected (just will not be charging the battery).

When I rev the bike to 1500 she blows the main fuse but when I disconnect the R/R she doesn't. but with the R/R connected it's pumping around 13 to 14 amps or volts to the battery

Dump the Suzuki R/R and install a Honda unit. You will have to solder connectors, but once installed on the bike you can forget about R/R problems.

Because the stator puts out power and the R/R requlates it, does not mean that the stator or R/R cant have a problem where it blows fuse at high rpm (higher voltage, higher current).

I suspect the R/R.

Or is a slight chance it might be with higher RPM is more vibration and that is causing some bare wire to touch ground somewhere. Maybe could test that just by wiggling wiring harness and see if it blows fuse right when wiggle something.

my gs started blowing main fuses 300km after doing valve clearances but only at a certain rpm.Turned out to be the feed wire to the horn was making intermittent contact with the frame when vibrating at certain rpms.was bloody frustrating to find the fault and was cured by simply rotating horn in its rubber mount.not saying its what your problem is but look at all accessories as well as they are fed power all the time and the switch closes the return loop from the accessory

Fester's (Original Posters) bike will have MAIN fuse and fuses for HEAD, IGNITion and SIGNAL. A short to ground in his bikes horn circuit should blow his SIGNAL fuse (but could possibly blow the main depending on some circumstances). His problem is the blowing the MAIN fuse.

Perhaps your bike is one of the 78 or 79 750s that has only one fuse.
