A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Evening all. I just recently purchased a used set of hardbags as well as the chrome mounting bracket and luggage rack and trunk to go on my 82 Gs1100gk. One of the two po's took the originals off as well as the fairing. I'm sure I can figure out where the brackets bolt to the bike through trial and error, but if anyone had any diagrams or photos showing how they mounted up that would be a big help. Thanks in advance.

any luck? have you tried working your way through it yet? if so, let me know where you're stuck and I can help out with photos, etc. - I had trouble getting mine back on after I took the bags off, but with the help of someone on this site and the photos they sent me, I was able to get them back on. It's pretty simple once you start - chrome frame first, mount the saddle bags, then the top case...

Go to bike bandit.com. Look under oem parts for your year and model and you will find a parts breakdown. Will tell you what parts go where and how they all fit together. But if you are going to keep the bike get a manual, you cant have a old bike without one.

I'm sorry guys. I received an im and a couple of pics that helped. It took a little while to get the brackets and bags and trunk on properly. The only problem I ran in to was that I was missing some of the bolts and screws (which really isn't a problem in the grand scheme of things). I took it out and went for a short ride and realized I don't have proper cold weather riding gear. Now I need to get the luggage painted and try to find a front fairing! I'll post pics soon. Thanks for checking on me.

oh...

oh...

your comment on your gear confused me at first (I prefer the GK in the cold weather because of the wind protection) but then I saw you don't have a fairing! Good luck tracking that down - eBay & salvage yards would be your best bet!
