DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My GS1150 runs like poop on Regular, in pings and splutters ...Premium gas seems to cure all of the problems.
it still pops on engine breaking...isn t that due to air getting in through the rubber inlets between the carbs and the engine?

the plugs are the perfect tone of coffee brown

though I do have a slight problem with the bike running fluffy between 5000 and 6500 revs Any Ideas?

.....But Im sure that the carbs need balancing im fairly new to this machine, and dont know of the history, I bought it from a motorcycle brakers who was originly gonna sell it off for parts

Sound like the timing may be too far advanced. that will cause the pinging on reg gas ( wich i never run in mine) and the popping under de-acceleration. do you have stock ign. and how about the exhaust. If you are running a freeflowing 4 into one, it is common for them to pop under de-acceleration. also if its stock exhaust but the baffles have been drilled out.

Im running standard pipes and standard jeting.....on engine breaking it pops and fires out of the end of the headers before the stock silencers
I know the carbs need balencing and Im gonna pay some one to sort that out imediately

syncing the carbs is usually the cheapest most performance enhancing adjustment you can make . start there and then check your timing. It usually does not move but if it has been replaced it coud be out.

do you mean it is keaking exhaust were the the front pipe meets the megaphone part?

when a friend of mine was following me....last night when it poped he saw flashes( flame) whatever between the downpipes and megaphone as you call it

Ive found and solved the poping on engine braking
on the colector box thers a metal round gasket that had poped out between the muffler and down pipe
Sorted thanks
