A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone know of a source or has any experience with an electronic ignition upgrade to replace the points (contact breaker) & condesner in a gs425? Does Boyer make a kit, does anyone know thier web site address?

I have installed my GS425 engine in my Sport ATV and am getting ready to rune it for as much power as I can get out of her.
Here is pictures of the project

Re: GS425 Electronic Ignition Upgrade Questions

A conversion from points to electronic ignition will not increase power. It will decrease maintenance. If your only reason for the change is to increase HP, dont waste your money.

I wanted the elctronic Ignition mainly due to less maint. I understand I will not get any more power from the engine with an electronic breaker system.

Check into the newer GS500E, I believe it has flat slides and electronic ignition. The engine is pretty much a 425 with a different valve cover. The 1982 GS400EZ does not have mechanical advance and I have heard of people switching them to a dyna and mechanical advance.

I got a Electronic Ignition kit from Newtronic Systems LTD, for my GS425. It is a really nice kit and I am going to write a full review of it for my website. It is a plug in unit that works with the factory ignition coils. Very nice setup including evertthing that you need to install.

Here is a link to Newtronic Systems LTD:

With their SU-3 Contactless Ignition Kit i will never mess with the points again.

Just what the doctor ordered!

hey there i have been looking at your website for the past couple weeks...i have been watchin for updates because i am tackling the same project 400 twin in four wheeler....lately i cant get to your website it says forbidden and cant be displayed....have you closed it or blocked it to people temporarily or somthin?

Anyways a quick question on your four wheeler u had to moce the sprocket out i think it was 1.5 inches? and you had to put a retainer bearing....on mine it literally has to move only 3 8ths which mean when its lined up the sprcokets jus on the end on the transmission shaft...i was for sure i wouldnt have to make a retainer beraing butim not sure could you please tell me if it sounds like id need to or it would be pointless.
