A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Aaaah so you've ditched the stock tail altogether! Looks like a good job on the seat too...

If all else fails on the front brake, you can get a new master cylinder from Mikes XS for less than $80 + shipping... mine was less than $100 shipped to my door and I'm very happy with it.

Also, when mounting the seat I'd try to get it to fill that gap under the lip of the tank... if you slide forward with it like that then you may feel a little... well... painful...

Thanks Pete, I'll try and fix the brake today and failing that I'll replace whatever seems broken. The gap between the seat and tank will be fixed, either by removing the steel frame or by adjusting the seat a little. I don't mind the gap but hear what your saying about...well, certain things being caught.

Thanks for the comments. Had another productive day and have reconnected all the wiring. Ground down the side covers as I didn't like the lines in them. Pulled the brake apart and it looks to be the MC, so might just buy a new one as I don't know how to pull the damn thing apart. Got the Tommaselli throttle in too which looks a lot better and feels pretty good.

Also got the clutch plates pulled apart they were almost seized together. Still wont release to neutral when clutch is pulled in so not sure what's going on there. Anyone have an idea why this is the case? Pulling the lever pushes the last plate out as it's supposed to but still sticking and wont roll if in gear... weird.

As for the MC, you can still get the genuine piston and cup set to rebuild it, but I had no success with mine as the piston bore was destroyed, so not sure how the rebuild goes unfortunately.

With the clutch, you're probably not going to get anywhere with it until you get some heat in the engine. After they've been sitting for a number of years they won't want to separate just by squeezing the clutch lever.

BIKE SOLD*** Thanks and out

Hi all,

So the time has come and the ol'project is finally gone...sold. Thanks to the many who have helped along the way and who continue to make this forum and others a great source of information, inspiration and fun. I have had fun with the old bike and hopefully the next owner will continue to enjoy it.

Really? Didn't even get to see it finished!

Oh well, as long as you got what you needed out of it all is good mate :)

So what's next?

I'm even more sad it was never truly finished, oh well.
No idea what is next yet Pete, I'm thinking a custom turbo diesel bike though.
