Whoa... 35 degrees with a little bit of rain, eh? I'm gonna have a tough week ahead of me...

So, what are the plans for paint? Colors? Stripes? :)

Dam. Threw out my back this weekend. Laying in bed thinking about those last little bits.....Meanwhile, a huge cold front is coming down from BC and we are going to have record lows in the city this week!

Maybe I should just take the dam girl apart and start fresh with paint and polish now. I had really hoped to get a ride before the crap weather.

Bugger! Gotta hate that! Then again, while lying there thinking about things you may just get some fresh inspiration for that one little thing you've missed... whatever that might be

Here's hoping you still get your ride in!

Well, I did manage to "Think" about the bike today. Going with an under seat exhaust can. Got a Ducati exhaust can that I shortened a bit. :p

Now lets hope this week brings some shop time!

you racing this or not driving more than 15 mins at a stretch?
seat is awful
lights would not pass DOT or if that a post accident inspection,

but it looks truly lovely
very nicr work

Actually, the seat is quite comfortable. I put some nice quality foam underneath, and it's deeper than it looks. I thought about adding some more light to the rear end also, even though they are VERY bright.

Cheers

Mate thinking is good, especially if it results in a decision on a direction to take :D

With the height of your rear end, I would say an underseat will work well for sure.

And.......We're off!

And.......We're off!

Done, done, done, done!!! I have been blessed with two whole days in the garage. A big thanks to the wife who let the chores slide!:)

Got the exhaust all buttoned up, the electrics working well, and put on a temporary rear light as I couldn't figure out where to put the license and light now that the underside of the seat is all filled with tubing.

The exhaust sounds only a little bit throatier than stock, nothing that will get me pulled over. Tuning has yet to commence though, because I haven't actually ridden it yet. Maybe tomorrow:-\\\

Not bad for four months worth of work!

I'll get some better pics up sometime this week. I am so amped!!!!

Where did you get your exhaust done? Or did you do it yourself? Looks great!

You should hook me up...

EDIT: Where's your battery?

Yeah baby yeah! Now that is what I'm talkin' 'bout! Very very nice Scotty, you should be damn proud of that for sure!

I only have two thoughts anywhere in the negative... if your battery's hiding under the duck tail there, you reckon it'll be right with the heat of the exhaust right underneath it without boiling all the water out of it?

Also, that brake light looks like it'll be a little difficult to see for people following you, however I do see it's temporary, so I'm guessing you'll get it under control :)

All in all, that is very impressive, and now that I've seen it with the single headlight again, that's definitely right. The duals would look cool, but I think they'd be somewhat wrong somehow...

Lookin' forward to those better photos for sure!

What's the plan with paint? Leave it as is or get it all shiny'd up?

Thanks guys. FC- the exhaust is all my own creation. I used all of two old stock setups from the muffler forwards. Pete - I hear you on the light, it's going to move for sure. I'm just not sure where. The battery is tucked up under the tank well away from the exhaust so no worries there.

Cheers!

Looks great!

Do you think the exhaust will cook your right foot, though? Perhaps a small heat shield is warranted?

Got a heat sheild in the works. I also have some header wrap to put on as well. Still not convinced I like the underseat thing. I am going to rock it for now, but am thinking about other designs as well. I gotta get my camera back and get some sound for you guys!

I used header wrap on one of the 1150 exhausts. Definitely helped with radiant heat. Can't speak to anything else, though.

Exhaust looks great! Definably different and way cool on a GS. I like it a lot!

First Run..

First Run..

Well. I got out on a ride today finally. I took it around the block just to feel out the changes, and boy there were many. I sit a lot higher up than before, and have to change up the brake and shift lever angles to get comfortable.

Got about 5 minutes into the ride and WOP! rear flat tire. Manged to coax it home in first.

Check the vid: link

The bike looks really good. I especially like the exhaust. Probably a stupid question but is the exhaust can welded on or slipped on?

Slip on!! Wish I hadn't blown a tire. It would have been nice to open her up and see how she sounds.

SC

Oh. Not a stupid question after all! I thought it was welded on! So what's next?
