DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Cool... what's the waterproof case for the Arduino like?

Keen to see that 540 done too!

Ziplock container Pete :-D Seemed to be the easiest thing to work with. I'm just going to stick it on with double sided tape.

I got all the paint back from Daryl (Fjbj40)

Felt like this when I saw it.

Ziplock container... love it!

Love that blue too! I almost went blue on the 450 but there are so many different shades/hues of blue it's critical to get the right one... I reckon yours is spot on!

The volt meter's pretty cool too... and cheap! Got the 540 head back yet?

Its in the dead zone between here and the states :P No tracking updates yet but it has left the country and is on its way here. In fact I'm going to check the mail right now :P

Aaaah I see! That dreaded cross-border shipping... that's so weird from my perspective... another country right on the doorstep and shipping there is a nightmare...

Looks like it won't be too long before your motorcycle finally comes out of the closet. :)

Anyway, it's looking great! I hope I get to own one of those some day.

Thanks guys

I took it out for a rip Wednesday and it seemed to run alright with the DJ134 jet but I didn't really push it to find out what the plugs would be like on top end.

They do look nice and tan while riding it around and cruising.

I've noticed that with both restrictors removed that the throttle is either on or off for the first bit. but after the low range it responds quite well.

Kind of scary in first and second how much it pulls. It shouldn't have that much I would have though.

Today I put the Mik 150's in and took it for a rip. Seems a bit different but hard to tell. Seems almost a little less responsive on bottom end.

Might have to adjust that later but for now I'm still breaking it in again and can't really wind it out yet to set the proper main.

I did get quite a scare the first time I opened it up and herd this awful winding sound. I thought I spun a bearing but it was just the tach seizing up. Next thing you know the needle starts dancing all over the place.

I'm going to swap it out with another one and tear that one apart. Easy fix but have to cut it open.

Besides that I soon have to check the valves. I still need two shims, A 250 and 255.

Also there is some cam walk. Only at idle and its more of a tap than anything but I know what it is at least. I did have two sets of cams and one set had a shim. I might have to use it or get some smaller shims made.

Sounds good. The tuning can be a witch to dial in.Check your tach cable before digging into the tach.I had one break but work sparaticly. It sounds like you may have the same issue. The cable is cheap and easy to replace.

My jetting is 142.5/40/no washers under the needle, and 10mm removed from my slide springs.I have the lunch box filter and a flow through D&D muffler from a Hayabusa on the stock GS header. My bike pulls hard from 2000rpm to redline. My jets are Mikuni from http://www.carbparts.com/ .I can get you P/Ns for the jets if you need them.

Cable is new and well lubed but I tried the tach on a drill and its dry as a bone. Still have to swap it out.

Need to get some plugs for doing chops. It will soon be ready for wide open throttle after this oil change.

Looks great! Glad I am not you having to keep those nice white wheels clean! :)
