A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hope someone can help a buddy of mine in UK with this. He needs to know the bore diameter of the fron master cylinder.

He has badly injured his wrist in a MC accident and needs to build a modified front brake system so he can continue to ride his MuZ Skorpion.

If you can help Please also include model year you are reporting on. I guess only someone with a unit apart or with a rebuild kit on hand would know.

You may reply direct to me at
suzukizone@yahoo.com

Thank you :)

Sorry, late at night.

The master cylinder he needs the bore diameter for would be the GS500E.

Thanks

Hi suzukizone,

My Suzuki factory manual gives the standard master cylinder bore (front) as 12.700 - 12.743mm

That is equivalent to 0.500 - 0.5017 inches.

These figures cover the GS500E models from 1989 to 2001 and possibly later.

Looking through a parts catalogue I have shows a surprisingly wide range of potential Suzuki donor bikes (I am looking at master cylinder repair kits).

For instance, all the following bikes appear to use the same master cylinder repair kits -

Suzuki GSF400 Bandit 1991-93
" GS500E 1989-2001
" RF600R 1994-96
" LS650 Savage 1986-2001
" VX800 1991-93
" VS1400GL Intruder 1987-2001

.....just to name a few.

So it must have been a fairly commonly used master cylinder.

Regards,

Pat
