A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I bought a gs550L with title for a $100. Had a seized motor. Used a lot of parts from it on my gs650. Couple weeks ago I bought a 550T with no title and a good motor. Decided to make one good bike from 2 as a winter project. Here's my progress so far.

I love watching cafe projects! Looks like that gas tank came from an older Suzuki bike. Where did you get your seat? Or did you make it?

Looking forward to this one :).

I like the stance you've got going there, lookin' good.

That seat looks a good profile to fit with the tank lines too.

thanks guys. The tank from a 75 gt380 and the wheels are from a 78 gs1000. I made the tail section from sheet metal and made a frame loop out of some old bars. I also lower the forks 2.75" and polished the lowers.

Good on ya for thinking outside the box on a cafe project! Everybody make parts to do CB's nice to find a GS!! And the bum stop sure does fit the lines of that awesome tank well.
Gonna keep an eye on this one.

I dig it. A lot of "Cafe" guys hate seeing a jap bike get cafed but Ive always been a build what you got kinda guy. Id love to see you cut the knee pods out of the tank. If you need any help with that lemme know. Ive done a couple and have a couple easy ideas on doing it.

yeah I'm debating on cutting the tank. My plan was to cut a piece out of each side and swap them then weld the pieces back in place.

Ive seen people have alot of luck using a ball peen hammer and bondo.

take a 2X4 and round out one edge of it. Then use it to form your tank. Won't even need bondo unless you get to agressive with it.

I also wanna see where this one goes.
Be careful or it'll become the favorite bike in the garage.

Got my sv650 front caliper mounted. Made a mount for the speedo. Dipped and rebuilt the carbs.

Ohhh My.... YES YES YES!!!
Awesome look, love too much about this to even begin listing it all but the Seat, paint, shocks, exhaust... hell, even the key chain!

Love it... nothing more I can say really :D

Edit: Yes there is! Just noticed the key chain... awesome taste in music :D

It's looking great. Nice work indeed.

Please enlighten me: what are those filter units? It looks like something for a Harley or odd car. I like the look and perceived function of your setup so much better than the typical individual pods.

I'd rock that like a 87 305 tbi camaro with t-tops at a molly hatchet concert!! Nice work..though I wouldnt call it a cafe (who really cares I call it awesome!) but a brat style

Wow, love it!! Damn it, I just started looking for a second bike when I haven't even ridden my first one...

Agree with the others, even the key chain is cool! ;).
