A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi,I'm new here and have an'82 GS650GL..there seems to be an extra? vacuum hose under the tank with no where to plug it in...my friend and I put the bike back together yesterday and it runs ok up to about 5000 RPM then it starts cutting out until it gets back below 5000 then runs good again!....it could be fuel but I can't help but think it might be electric...any ideas?...Thanks....Ron..

The petcock vacume line.

The petcock vacume line.

I think thats the petcock vacume line. You should have two hoses from the petcock. The one closer to you is the fuel line. It goes to the supply T between 2 and 3. The other smaller one behind that goes to the #2 carb. Its the vacume that turns the gas on while the bike is running.

If the fuel flows while the tank is removed rebuild the petcock.

The other hose and wires under the tank are for the fuel level gauge. That hose just hangs down behind the engine incase the fuel gauge leaks.

There is also a drain tube on the underside of the tank for the fuel sending unit. Does not hook up to any thing. Not running right? I would check the air filter ( They WILL not run good at all with out the filter and air box installed) , all hose clamps. It probably needs the carbs cleaned and make sure to install an inline fuel filter.

Sounds like the extra hose is the floatbowl vent tube. Just route it under the seat or? It needs to breath, so don't kink it.

actually..there's a 3RD hose..it comes from the PRIME side of the petcock, and it doesn't hook anywhere..anyone know where that hose goes? ](*,)

3 hoses on the petcock?

3 hoses on the petcock?

You have 3 hoses on the petcock? Sounds like your petcock came from some other bike.

The two that are on my stock petcock come from the prime side, and point toward the back of the bike.
