A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok, I took the carbs off the bike to get the airbox the last owner left out back in. Had spark before this now I have no spark. I checked the volts where power goes into the coils and have 12.4ish on both orange wires.... but also have full power on the other two wires that go to the coils? from what I understand the other 2 wires should only get power when the signal is sent for the coils to create spark. if I'm correct on this what would cause this issue? I'll be first to admit I know noting about motorcycles but can fix almost anything on cars so should be able to figure this out with some help. I don't really want to put a ton of money into this cause I have been listing it for sale locally and my offers "if i can get it running" havn't been real great. I dont want to put $800 in it to get $800 back.

Follow the connector off ignitor box up to its plug(s) - make sure they are connected. If it ran before, something got disconnected

Got spark back, I used a jumper cable and some gator clips and run it from the ground on the ignitor/cdi box to the battery ground and have spark now so bad ground..... question is can I just splice a longer wire in and keep it grounded to battery? or should I go to frame somewhere.... cuz it was grounded to bottom of Filter housing

If it were me I'd figure out why the original ground isn't taking any more and clean that up. Dealing with a lot of rust or grease? I spent a lot of time cleaning up that area of my bike recently. Sure no one sees it, but there are a lot of electrical ground points there.

theres like 3 inches of space down there. id have to take the whole airbox setup apart and that was all a "female dog" to get back in there.

Oh yea. I know. I had it all apart over the winter. Had the airbox and battery box out and freshly powder coated. I wouldn't want to tear it all apart again if necessary. That said, if I was a future buyer I would be unhappy with weird non-stock wiring. Just saying.
