A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So heres the dilemma I Picked up a nonrunning 1982 gs750 around Christmas time. The bike came with a 4 to 1 drag pipe and header and no airbox so I picked up some cheap chinabay pods for it. Got it to run but leaked fuel out the carbs very badly so cleaned carbs and installed 125 mains as well. As of a couple days ago ran but broke up a lil over 6500rpm. yesterday ran as it only had 2 and half cylinders and now today wont start at all. sounds like its not even trying at all. have spark out of every spark plug wire and valves were adjusted as well. Im just at a loss with this bike. She has really grown on me but its just getting to be more and more like a VDUB which I have also owned as well ugh.. I am almost positive the ignitor box is bad but then I figured I wouldn't have spark either. any and all help will be greatly appreciated:)

Look at wiring diagram. make sure plug wires go to correct plugs. If you got spark and fuel it should at least start.look at plugs for signs of fuel after cranking. With cheap pods, open exhaust, it will run poorly according to everything that I've read on here, but it will still start. (If carb passages are not gunked up)

What exactly did you do to clean the carbs?
There it is again, the $100,000 question.

I think you are thinking the same thing I'm thinking as the symptoms point in that direction don't they?

I am almost positive the ignitor box is bad but then I figured I wouldn't have spark either.

If it has sparks, the ignitor is igniting.

Clean and adjust the carburetors properly.

Do all of the other neglected maintenance, adjust the valves, take no short cuts. Your new bike is thirty years old, it needs some work.

Let''s start with this....
