A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am painting my 1983 gs75e and have located some gsx750ef decals. Seems to me I heard somewhere that this is the same model sold somewhere else but Canada. Does anybody know ?

Isn't GSX750EF a later Katana? It would not be the early 80's Kat but the later, full body covered Kat. Or maybe I'm full of it.

That would be a gsx750f. 1988 to 2006. Known as a teapot to Saffa...

Yes, but not in the U.S. We had no 750's here in '84, and it was a 700 here in '85 only.

Well see, you learn something every day. A teapot, huh? I thought that was a GT750. But I guess that would be a kettle. I had one of them and loved it....

83 GSX750ES

84 GSX750ES

85 GSX750EF
Same as mine
Little side thing, seen an original paint one yesterday:cool:

86 GS750ES
Available in Canada that year thus a GS
GSX seems to be a plain bearing designation everywhere but North America.

The GS was the designation for the old 8 valvers whilst the GSX was the 16 valver everywhere except in the US for some unknown reason :)

Dunno why......

Near as can figure from that site is that the F means fairing. But then they don't list my bike either.

Looks like I am still looking for decals. The ones I found were at Anderson Vintage Cycles, which I just found on the deadbeat thread. Oh well maybe I'll just go without the 750E on the side covers.

In New Zealand the "E" was naked, the "ES" was half faired and the "EF" was fully faired

That's as I understand it works every where...E= naked, S= Sport (half fairing), F=full fairing.

But these letters shouldn't be confused with the letter used to designate the model year. i.e 83=D, 84=E, 85=F, 86=G, 87=H (goes off the rails after 87).

Also other letters used to designate other differences. i.e shaft drive=G, Apehangers & bent banana seats =L (for LOL) etc;)
