DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Gsx air bleed issue

Hi guys, I have a 1980 gsx 750 ( new Zealand) I have just been adjusting my air bleed screws... No: 2,3 and 4 are all running a nice brown plug with about 2 and a bit turns on the screws, but no:1 plug is real white, even got to the point of winding the air screw out 5 turns.. Still a white plug!

I have had the carbs off for a clean and replaced air bleed o-rings. Could be a blockage in the carb that's happened since cleaning them, or could it be an air leak or something else??? Any tips on where to start looking would be much appreciated. Cheers, Daniel.

Greetings and Salutations!!

Hi Mr. bda4130,

It could be that the carbs have not been cleaned thoroughly enough. The proper way is in the links below. It could also be that the tip from the "idle mixture adjustment" screw has broken off and is stuck. (NOTE: The VM carbs have a separate air screw and fuel screw for the pilot circuit. The CV style carbs, like yours, have a single screw controlling how much pre-mixed "enrichment" gets added to the overall air/fuel mix for starting purposes.) A removal procedure can also be found on my little website.

Anyway, if you very carefully go through all of the information in the links below, you can learn in a few hours what it has taken me years to acquire. Enjoy!

Let me dump a TON if information on you and share some GS lovin'. :D

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

Hi how are you getting on with your carbs? I am about to do mine.
Where abouts in NZ are you?

Hi, I'm in wellington, managed to find the problem with my carbs, was messing round with air/fuel bleed screw for ages... Turns out it was an air leak problem. The rubber tubes that join the air box to the carbs were slowly working their way off the carbs allowing a small amount of air in, causing it to run lean and erratically... Simple problem that caused a big headache. This is my bike...
