A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I got a set of the bst36ss 36mm slingshot carbs off a running gsxr and i got the k&n dual pods to go on them, ive heard you need a longer throttle cable to do this mod, can anyone point me in the right direction on what throttle cable to get to make this work? Also, any input on jetting could be of help, im considering the factory pro stage 3 kit, or the dyna jet stage 3 kit for these carbs, anyones input would be great. The bike has the motogpwerks stainless yoshi replica pipe on it. Thanks for the help!

I have a set of bdst36ss carbs on my 83 1100e. I bent the cable mount on the rack to accomidate the stock cable, works fine. Info on jetting and things here-http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=84777&highlight=stiksave

Hope that helps.

Are Slingshot 36s better than the stock 36s on the 1150?
In terms of smiles yes
The BSTs are not a good design and wear out the slide guides, needles and emulsion tubes.
I found a company still selling the slide guides and use Dynojet kits to set them up for the GSs.

I used a Motion Pro throttle cable set up on mine. I also went with the Factory pro jet kit as a base line. The thing to watch for on those carbs is the emulsion tube wears out. The hole gets elongated and makes jetting a nightmare/ impossible. I found this out first hand. Factory Pro makes new tubes that are made of a harder material.

Great advice, guys. Thank you. I found a set for $100 in very good condition (though I will have to look at slides and emulsion tubes), and I just don't think I can say no to them.
