    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ever just want to spend some money on your bike? I've been unhappy with my grips for while now. Not grippy enough. Also, I ride a lot in the later and early part of the season, so my fingers get cold. Also, I've always had crap mirrors that vibrate like a, well, I'm not gonna say that word here.; So ta-da!!! Here's my new set up. I can see!!! Also, no more icy fingers. I rode today with a wind chill of 32F at 70-75mph and while most everything else was cold, my fingers weren't! The hand guards actually set a little differently on the GS stock handlebars than they do on a dirt bike. A bit more angled, but it works for me as it makes the wind go over my whole hand. Thumbs still get a bit chilly, but better than ice paws.

Ever want to spend money on my bike? Are you kidding?

I don't like to add things that add weight or bulk (touring), but I spend hours every day imagining ways to show my love financially. I'm an old 1970's and '80's guy, so Grab On grips (black) are always on my Suzi. I don't know if they're compatible, but heated grips have been around for ages.

In the '80's, I mounted a radar detector on the handlebars of my Kaw 900, but with few exceptions, I'm a 'less is more' guy.

It's 36 but feels like 30 out so I'm not getting off this couch. (I actually did a few hours later when it got colder!)

Good luck and keep the shiny side up!

Heated grips are for sissies unless some type of open flame is involved! Seriously though, with my plexifairing, a goretex military surplus storm shell and a good set of Carhartt gloves I don't seem to need them. There's nothing colder (or wetter) than cold leather, avoid it like the plague.
