    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

The deadbeat list may be a debatable item but it truly wouldn't have helped in this case. The guy got burned by someone he knows in person and trusted, not really Frank's fault, though I'm not sure why Josh isn't on the list and think it will keep coming back to bite Frank as long as he's not.

Maybe RageZro can help resolve the issue, but judging on past such attempts I'm Faster's best hopes probably lie with local authorities.

The GSR is open to anyone with a computer to read the various forums. You don't have to be a member to do that. Being banned only means you can not post.

He can log into his account apparently, can he read OT? Again not an issue, if he can't post then that was the practical aim of the ban. I think you can do PMs if you're banned too, but then I don't know if and what the different levels are.

On my two day ban I couldn't see anything until I ran CC Cleaner. After that I could see what a visitor can see. Nothing in OT and couldn't make posts anywhere......
 
So a cookie was preventing you from seeing the site post ban.

Im Faster, I sent you a PM, I wanted to wait a day after contacting him to be sure he contacted you first before I passed along what I had found out for you.

To help in keeping other people from getting ripped off, this forum was created. So if you get burned, then be sure to send a Private Message or email to me. In your note please include your full name and username, the full name and username of the deadbeat and the details of the transaction. We'll post the information here in this forum, send the person a warning email and ban them from the forums.

I didn't see mentioned whether a delivery date had been agreed upon. When was it supposed to be done?

I wonder if legal ramifications have anything to do with Frank's decisions regarding the Deadbeat list ? Though Frank owns the site and has every right to set the rules, could slander still come into play ? I think a specific thread giving reviews like Trip Adviser does would be just as affective and much safer from a legal point of view. Of course I can't say I'm familiar with US law on this issue....
 
Garth, I would think a simple note warning to use due diligence when dealing with a particular person would negate any legal ramifications.
