    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Those rotor bolts will be your original ones. The older bikes had those ones with a taller shoulder. Either that or they are from the rear.

Glad you got it sorted.

If a washer fixed it I don't think I have anything that thin that you could put behind the rotor as an alternative... I might have a set of 2mm ones somewhere but sounds like even they would be too thick!
 
Yeah, it seems that this particular combo doesn't need the spacers. If remember correctly, the offset of these rotors measured about 20mm.

Thanks to everyone for all the help. The bike stops on a dime now! The new brakes combined with a set of Sonic fork springs and fresh fork oil has completely transformed this bike!

Do you have a way to reasonably accurately measure centre to centre of your fork legs?

It's also possible that I measured the offset incorrectly. I turned the rotor so that the outer braking surface was flat on the ground and use the depth gauge on a digital caliper to measure from the back of the carrier down to the ground.

I'm not sure how accurately I'll be able to measure center to center on the fork legs, but I'll see what I can do. What will that data help you determine?

Did you account for the thickness of the buttons that hold the rotor to the carrier? They stick out and would skew your measurements. Try laying the rotor with the mounting surface (the part up against the wheel) on a flat surface and measure up to the rotor face.

Measure outside-to-outside or inside-to-inside of the legs then add/subtract the leg diameter to get an accurate measurement of the tube spacing.
