A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm getting ready to change the O-rings on the two center head bolts on my 1983 1100 E, to stop the oil leak on the front motor. What do u use on the o-rings to lubricate so they don't walk of the bolts? And would you retourque all the head bolts or just the center two? Has anybody had any issues with head gasket leaks after loosening the head bolts? Thanks for any help.

So has anybody done the O-rings on the front center head bolts on a 83 1100 e, i learned about it here, but I cant seem to find it with my searches. Need to know what to lubricate the o-rings with and if you have any tips to doing it . Thanks

I just used a very light coating of oil. Its a very simple repair. I would check the rest of the head bolts for proper torque. I am not even sure if any lubricant is need for the installation of the new O-rings.

Het I'm doin my o-ring fix today ,do u have to retorque bolts after it warms up?and should I retorque all the head bolts?

I would check all the all the head bolts for proper torque. I dont think you need the engine warm. I just installed the new O-Rings and then checked the Torque on all the head bolts. Checked the valve clearance and buttoned it up.

Have fun.
