    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

headlight modulator

Now there are so many enviro-whackos living here you'd probably go to jail for life with no chance of parole for doing something like that. Fines for leaving your fish house on the ice past the removal date range as high as $1k...........:-|
Little thread hacking.

Last I heard you could still sink them but before they were put on the ice they had to be inspected for lack of fluids and a cable attached (you are responable to get it out) but probably too many cars in the way it would probably get hung up on an Edsall(sp) or some other pice left from years gone by.

Dan , I don't think they are illegal. Not according to the MMSC that I just checked online. If the modulator complies to the federal safety standards, then they are legal. This is also stated on the Kisan site.

This is from page vi of the05-06 MN Motorcycle,Motorized Bicycle (Moped) and Electric Assisted Bicycle Manual straight from the DPS under Motorcycle Equipment Requirements:........."At least one, and not more than two, headlights with high- and low-beam settings. (Headlight modulaters are illegal in Minnesota.)"
Hasn't changed yet that I know of.

Grandpa, see below what I got from the driver's manual. I guess possible conflicting laws will allow a ticket to be dismissed in court.
I believe you're incorrect, DanTheMan. I just went to the AMA website, where the laws for motorcycles in each of the States are outlined. For Minnesota, it clearly states:

"Daytime Use of Headlights -- Required by law. Modulating headlight permitted."

Read what Steve contributed on page 1 of this thread. It's my understanding that headlight modulators are legal in all 50 States and DC, by Federal standard. Someone please double check this. It's possible someone you know in MN got a ticket for using a headlight modulator; if so, the cop was at fault and should be challenged in court (which can be a pain in the ___, of course...)

glad to see I'm not the only one that has to sort through all the legal rhetoric we have to deal with in the land of 10,000 laws....
