A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Again hello and thanks to all for a great site. I've been lurking around for a couple of months for info and ideas on fixing up my latest find, an '83 gs1100e. I dont really like to spend much time in front of the computer in my free time, but I have to say...this site has so far saved me so much time, aggravation, and money that I look at it every day. I'm working my way through the lists of "must do" items (valves, stator, carbs, forks, clutch springs, controls, etc) as well as cleaning up and checking all the usual old-crusty-bike stuff. Its amazing to me btw how a bike thats been so obviously neglected could still work- stored outdoors for years, air box mouse nest, black 90w fork oil...you get the picture. Anyway, now that I'm in, I hope I can give a little back for all I've recieved. And, well, I still have a few questions haha. More to come...and once again, thanks to all!

Welcome. An 83 1100e was the bike that got me hooked on old GSs way back in the early 90s.
Dont be shy with the pictures.

Hey there Sparky, I'm just down the road from you in Cornersburg. Let me know if you need any advice, but I'm warning you my advice might not be what your looking for! Haha. Seriously though, maybe we can meet up and talk motorcycles. I'd like to see you 1100e 👍

Ha small world! And advice is always welcome-its what brought me here after all. Biggest headache right now is crusty and stuck header bolts...6 down, 2 to go after a month of soaking and heating and staring and cursing. Once I figure out how to get pics posted you'll see my plead for help on that in the tech area, so of course feel free to chime in. Otherwise yeah I could talk about bikes and racing all day so a meet-up sounds great. Right now tho its warm so I'm headed out to the shop to try to talk some sense in to those bolts since I cant watch the fun on Phillip Island anyway

Welcome! Enjoying the similarity of your names and location. For what's it's worth I turned 64 this month........:cool-new:

Well thanks and happy birthday to you...and yeah strangely similar. More than that in common too Im sure
