A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello all, first post here to introduce myself. This past weekend I picked up a 1980 1100 seems pretty solid and complete. Worst part is the paint. It was painted with a rattle can. Has 51 thousand on the clock. I have only logged about 20 miles one trip to and back from work... 20150809_171727.jpg

Welcome,

Your ride doesn't look too bad even with a rattle can tank. I lived in Alamogordo for a bit--left in July 2014. I'm guessing you're in ABQ?

Looks good to me. Paint is one of the easier fixes. Hopefully it runs as good as it looks. And welcome to the site.

Seat look nice for a change. Also those are kinda cool balogna slice pipes. I assume these are not the OEM pipes just cut? The only thing missing is the rear blinkers? You can probably find some other bars that might be a bit more comfortable as well.

I had a 1982 750EX and you want to make sure the front forks are in good shape (clean and proper oil levels) and a fork brace will also help. Not the greatest thing at higher speeds (over 85mph) but below that pretty decent comfortable ride. The Avon Roadriders are also a good choice when you need tires. There are instances of tires cracking but apparently it is mostly cold weather (but not always) but IMO the tires are worth the small risk.

If you are thinking of getting one, double check this is the correct one.

Thanks for the comments, its running nice has a little bit of rattle but mellows out when the clutch is pressed. I have no Idea on pipes po said they were stock. I asked when I heard it. a ilttle sound but not too loud. I thougt the seat was cool. the bike original color was silver with red pinstripes... The tires seem to be pretty new Ill have to look at the date to be sure. do these seem to be stock bars? I have no Idea..

I went to alamogordo to pick up this bike. A guy nice guy in the airforce had it.
