I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I recently picked up an '80 GS750L that came with this spare tank so I have no idea what it is. I do know it is too narrow for my bikes front mounting posts. I will probably be putting it up for sale so I would like to describe it properly and would appreciate any help. The guy I got it from thought it might have been from an 850 but thats all he knew. I have been searching here for days looking at tank shapes threads and in the gallery as well but not having much luck. Of course it doesn't help when you don't know what you are searching for
Worst part for me is, aside frome the dull paint and some scratches, this tank is in GREAT condition and I love the shape. It's rust free shiney clean inside and I see no dents, just wish it fit!
I noticed most tank appearance and fitment questions are posted here instead of Carbs / Fuel / Exhaust section so here goes... THANKS!

Dimensions (approx)
Length: 25"
Width at widest point: 14"
Space at neck between mounts: 3"
Single point rear mount
It does have a gauge sending unit and the petcock has a lever on it if that helps narrow it down.

Carefull, Suzuki Noob here so now I am confused... Surprise!
So you are saying this tank is fror a GS***G and my bike is a GS750GL? After reading the info on the home page I thought I technically had a GS750LT ('80 GS750L)
Figured I post it in the "For Sale" section once I determined what it is, to fund the bike build... Thanks!

Sorry ...Strate "G" is a shaft drive bike and would be a "standerd" sort of bike on how it looks and rides ..

A "GL" is a shaft drive "cruiser" sort of bike

A "GK" is a "big bagger" or "big non-bagger sort of bike

If theres no "G" in the naming of your bike is chain drive ..If there is a "G" it has a drive shaft ...

So you have a "cruiser" sort of bike with a chain ..

The "T" is the years 1980 ...

GS750LT .... 1980 chain drive cruiser "sort" of a bike

The tank is 850g or 1000g... Has one ear at the back so is early ..

Hope this helps ..Im a bad speller

THANKS!!!
That helps a lot
So for year ranges I see 79-81 had the single point rear mount like this one and 82's and up at twin bolts... right?

Yes ..Not a realy hard core "G-man" so some G-pervert I'm sure will help use out here......I was a motorcycle mechanic in the early 80's with Suzuki and worked at US Suzuki for a time ... Two bolt tanks are 82 on up ... I was thinking that the 850g and the 1000g one bolt tanks will interchange ...

You know theres a gallery on the home page and its forum guys bikes by year ..Look that over and you can see what all the differant models are...

Have a good day

You rock!
Yes I had been to the gallery searching before posting but with out knowing the details you provided it was tough.
Thanks again, go have a cold one on my tab.

See Mr Hoosier ... Here they come...LOL...
LOL!

lti_57 - Trying to figure that out, that's why I started this thread. I needed to determine what I had in order to get a feel of the going rate. I plan on posting it in the "For Sale Parts" section here on GSResources once I get a clue. This is how I fund my budget builds once I figure out what I don't need or can't use.
Since you showed first interest I'll P.M. you before listing it. Trust me, it won't be bad... I have little invested and like to share the wealth. I can always use the good Karma! ;)
But to be easy I could just say "Wadya give me?"
