A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Tank Identified

I don't know what all that other stuff is but I know that the tank is from a 1982-83 GS750T (TEE Model)... see my photo albums. Do I get a prize???

Thanks for the help guys. I didn't realize there are differences in the sheetmetal between models.

Does anyone know how this tank compares in size to a 78 GS750 tank?

MUCH smaller...

What are you looking for exactly? I have a couple of 750 tanks i pounded knee inserts into Id be willing to part with. They need to be finished, but if you're doing a project, might be perfect for ya..

I have a 78 750 project I picked up. It has a stock tank which I like the style of, but need something slightly smaller. The bike is stripped down to the basics, so it makes the tank look too large for the bike. That tank I posted is different in style, but I thought that it look pretty good.

I still might trying sectioning the stock tank, but it would be much easier if I found something smaller that worked.

What you looking to get out of the tanks?

Oh hell, I dunno. maybe $50 for the pair plus shipping? They need the smoothing out and massaged, but they're pretty close to done as far as the body work goes. I just lost interest. I'll dig em out of the attic and get some pics up as soon as I can :)

gotcha. no rush on the pictures, whenever you get around to it. I probably won't decide on anything right away, but will keep it in mind.

T- like to me also - here is a top veiw of mine for another perspective.

yasser - thanks for the pic! A little different than what I would have thought based on the side pic. Do you know how the size compares to a 78 750? I like it, but i'm thinking it might be kinda hard to find one.

Glad it helped - I have no clue about the other years :o and have a recollection that it is pretty specific to the T. Basscliff posted my shop book to his site and it covers many 750 models, but don't know if you will find exactly what you are looking for in that material. Good luck.
