DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

HELP!!!! Oil leak and rally 3 days away!

Jon,
I'm so glad you posted this when you did, I've been thinking about my starter lately and wondered how it drained. I knew that you had to get some water in there and such with cleaning the bike. I was just getting ready to post a question about it LOL.

BTW, I'm so jealous of you heading down to Robbinsville! I'm tempted to head down there in August with the VJMC, I just can't get away in time for this one.

Are you coming down to WV for our rally?

Keith,

Will shout at you when I get back. Thanks for the info.

Eddie,

My 750 is a chain drive, so no separate oil fill for the tranny. I know what you're talking about though; I've got that "level" screw on my 1100G shaftie.

Runewolf,

Don't know if I can make the WV rally or not. Will post on the thread as time nears.

I just got back from the garage and cleaning all the crud off has been the most of my day. The stator cover is back on and the starter motor is ready to be replaced. Then I've got to clean out that front sprocket area. That's so caked on, it will need to be scraped off before I even think of degreasing...

Update to all of those who gave advice on my recent repairs. The 750 is road worthy and all I need to do is change the oil. That leaves me all day tomorrow to pack and get ready to go. Thanks to everyone who offered advice and instructions. I ended up putting my stock jets back in and after I fixed the oil leak, I did a sync and hit the road. Next thing you know, I'm blowing white smoke BIG TIME. I check the plugs and they are all becoming oil fouled! WTF?

Turns out when I made a new gasket for the breather cover on the valve cover, I missed cutting out two holes. You guessed it, the engine couldn't breathe and I was burning lots of oil. Made the correction and now she not only drives great, but the exhaust is now invisible!

Thanks again!
