A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi new here have looked through the site many of times and think its great... I have a problem with my 1100 i cant seem to solve. the bike seems to run great fo about 20 mins then is hard starting and barly runs unless chocked any ideas?????

Could be the gas tank is not venting, prevent the petrol flowing. Does it go if you open the gas tank? Oterwise could be electrical. I recently had plug caps go after they warmed up a bit. Tested fine cold, but stopped working when hot. What is the behaviour before it stops?

well it starts to looose power like it is running on only 2 cyl after being stopped for say >5 min it goes back to normal i checked the stator from cold and tested at about 13.7 v and stayed there though the bike was ok then (not acting up).i have cleaned the carbs and put in new plugs,oil/filter, removed clean and insp clutch in great shape lots of compression on all 4 could you explain the gas tank thing in more detail i have a diaphram type of petcock??? not sure how it really works, would taping in a vale style petcock help this???

You sound like you may have a coil going out. What you describe is common on a coil. They heat up and fail then cool off ...then start working again until they reheat. Its a internal short.

yep the coil for cyl 1-4 is suspect can I use any 3 ohm coil here (just for testing)??? if so would you go stock coil or 3rd party?? last night i rode for about 5min with the mc acting up cyl 1&4 went cold so oly 2 things left the ignitor or coil I have a pair off a kawi 750 and some off a cb750 both late 70s could etheir of thes work for the short term?? thanks for the help guys I will let you know the final result shortly :D

It would be a great article if you could write on how you found the solution and what you did to correct it...(hint, hint) :D
