    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Help with identifying carb part

Hey guys I have tried searching on here and looking online for a part with no success. I think its called a vacuum barb but I cant find where to buy it online. The first picture is the barb with the broken threads (it was actually glued in!):

Im not to good at photobucket yet... I want this to be bigger! anywho, there is a red circle around the fitting. the fitting is on the intake flange on the first back. In this picture there is a black hose, which I think is the vaccuum hose to the petcock. sorry for the crappy pics, I will get better but in a hurry now.

Can you tell me what this part is actually called?

Where can I order one?

If by "the first back", you mean carb #1, under your clutch hand, it looks like somebody tried to rig up a semi-permanent vacuum port for synching
the carbs, kind of like Kawasaki '4's have. Can't really see a red circle in the pic, so I'm just guessing, and if I'm right, it's a non-standard part that somebody tried to graft onto your bike. Maybe if you share your Photobucket address with us, somebody might get a more accurate answer to your question

Should I just plug this with a new bolt? if so, where does this vacuum line go?

I just bought this bike for dirt cheap. The PO said it ran but we couldnt start it. I got it home and found out that the clutch kill switch was the problem. But it ran poorly, now im fixing all the crappy mix ups.
 
Does the float bowl drain take a 17 mm wrench to unscrew it?

Then, you should have a port between the first two carbs on your left, as you sit on the bike, between the carbs and the intake manifolds for your petcock vacuum.
Seal the one that you are currently using with a stock Allan head bolt just like the others have.

what about the hose that was connected here? I have the carb all off the bike and hoses removed so I dont know where the other end attached.

Could this have had something to do with the leaking fuel and crap all over the carbs? :

Go to Basscliff's site, step by step on how to clean VM carbs., that will make it easy to do. Also should show where all the hoses go. terrylee
