Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hey ed look what came in the mail today :)
now i know what the gasket and the block are for but what is that round metal & rubber gasket for
only thing i can think of is the oil pressure sending unit but it has it's own gasket oring on it
i have the cooler mounted and the lines cut and ready and i will install it tomorrow but before i do i thought i would ask what that gasket was for
oil%20cooler%20fitting.jpg

also what length bolts did you use to mount it i'm thinking a 45mm for the back and a 30 mm for the front

I'm guessing it goes down inside the cavity on top of the oil feed pipe to make sure all the oil gets captured....

Stick something down the hole, find out how deep it is & use a bolt 5mm or so shorter than that + height of adapter. :)

Dan's pretty much covered the questions.:D

Drop that sealing washer down over the oil port and make sure it lays flat over the oil port and fits snug in the oil distribution cavity - we need that thing to stay in place. Next, place the adapter over the cavity without the gasket and see how proud the adapter sits above the top lip of the cavity. It should stick up maybe a 1/6" or so. The rubber washer will compress a little, as well the gasket, so play around with the gasket thickness until you get a comfortable amount of compression on both - you may need to make another gasket or make a new one with thicker gasket paper. As for the screw length, can't remember how long. You want them to extend about 1 cm below the adapter. Suzuki used special sealing washers under the screws so reuse your old ones or get new.:D

Lastly, the port near the oil pressure sensor is the output and the other is the return.

Have fun.

out standing thank you ed i'll post some pics when i get in installed it does look good again thank you for the part

Is there plans for them things? I've seen the write-up on the other style, but I like this one better. I have an oil cooler, but never got around to installing. Any chance of getting a drawing of sorts?

anyone know where i could find one of those small orings/gaskets?

The very small one, (about nickel size) that goes under the oil pressure sending unit.

That sealing washer came from Autozone, next to the oil drain plugs. It’s a metal washer with a raised rubber washer molded in. The washer was too large to fit inside the oil distribution cavity, over the oil port, so it was ground down a little so it would lay flat but not squirm out of place.

The adapter itself has an extension piece that extends down into the oil distribution cavity, it’s important to pick up 100% of the oil flow coming up out of the oil feed port and route it over to the cooler. That washer fits between the oil port and the adapter.
