I think I found several problems with my bike that was causing the problems. I removed the carbs and looked everything over. I did not clean the head suface where the intakes bolts up. It had silicone or something similar smeared all over. I scraped them off and bolted the intakes down tight. One of the choke plungers was loose. The next thing was after replacing gas line with clear line I noticed air bubbling back ward in the line.It was still getting really high idle after starting it. I plugged the vaccum line and put the petcock on prime and it seemed to work alot better. The rpm's didn't go very high but it did seem to idle down really slow. I was able to adjust the idle with the main idle screw. I think I lost the spring if it had one the choke works okay now. I am thinking maybe the valves need checked and the carbs synced. I was able to ride it up the alley but it was way to soggy to do any more. It seemed to not have the power, almost like the throttle or the choke was closed? would this be the valves need adjusted or the carbs needing synced. the idle seemed to be up and down but only about 500 rpm's. I am hoping not to have to take the carbs back off, but I am getting better at it. I need a new battery but am going to wait for a little warmer weather. If I take the valve spacers off of a 700e would they be the same for all engines? Thanks for all the help so far. It seems to be coming along. :-k
